HOW TO MAKE CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE

Today is St. Patrick’s Day and to celebrate it you may want to prepare a traditional and delicious Irish-American meal. And what’s more traditional than Corned Beef with a side of cabbage. A classic dish that delights everyone who tastes it. Try adding a touch of mustard or horseradish.

For this recipe you’ll need:

 

Ingredients 

  • 3 pounds of corned beef brisket (here’s a recipe on how you can do it)
  • Salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning
  • 10 small red potatoes
  • 5 carrots, peeled and cut into 3-inch pieces
  • 1 large head cabbage, cut into small wedges

Directions

 

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water and put it to a high temperature until it boils. Then place your corned beef and your spices there, then bring the boiling water to a simmer. Let it there for around 50 minutes or until it becomes tender.

Step 2

Add your potatoes and carrot and cook until they’re almost tender, then throw in your cabbage and cook for another 15 minutes. Remove the meat and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Serve on a plate and add as much broth as you desire. Top it with mustard or horseradish to add an extra kick. Then enjoy!
